About the Legendary CAT Synthesizer

A brief history: In the early 1970s, portable synthesizers were rare and expensive. A team of engineers, led by Carmine Bonanno, created Octave Electronics (later Octave-Plateau™) to change that. The CAT, released in 1976 for just $599, offered innovative features and incredible sound quality, making it accessible to many musicians who couldn’t afford more expensive options. Its unique sound quickly made it a favorite amongst electronic music pioneers, cementing its place in history.
