Hazy Days: A Free Soulful Hip-Hop Sample Library

Dive into the world of mellow, genre-bending hip-hop with Hazy Days. This expansive sample library offers over 100 authentic sets brimming with real drums, classic keys, modular synths, and soulful vocals, all processed through analog equipment for a gritty, vinyl-esque sound. Create laid-back, conscious hip-hop beats with rhythmic swing, soulful chord progressions, and smooth vocals. Evoke the genuine feel of ’90s hip-hop or craft your own unique soulful flavor. Hazy Days was developed in collaboration with Emeric Zubar (BLAKE).

Compatibility and Installation

Hazy Days is currently distributed as an unpacked library. While designed for seamless integration with Native Instruments Maschine 2 (v.2.17.4) and Battery 4 (v.4.3.0) (tested and confirmed working via the Files tab), manual registry entry may be required for optimal functionality in these DAWs. Instructions are provided below. Note: Native Access.xml must be a recent version (May 2024 or later).

Registry Edit Instructions (for Maschine 2 and Battery 4)

1. Open Registry Editor (regedit).
2. Navigate to HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Native Instruments\Maschine Content
3. Create a new String Value named lib_Hazy Days and set its value data to Hazy Days.
4. Navigate to HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Native Instruments\Hazy Days.
5. Create the following String Values:
   • ContentVersion: Set value data to 1.0.0
   • ContentDir: Set value data to C:\\Users\\Public\\Documents\\Hazy Days Library\\ (Remember to replace this path with your actual library location, using double backslashes).
6. Close Registry Editor and restart your DAW.

PC Requirements

• Windows 10 or 11 (64-bit)
• Sufficient storage space (library size will vary)
• DAW compatible with WAV and other common audio formats (e.g., Maschine 2, Battery 4, FL Studio, Ableton Live, Logic Pro X, Cubase)
